1272 Carlyon Road

Preserving History, Transforming Lives

The Ministerial and Educational Resource Center will serve as a sanctuary of hope, rejuvenation, and restoration, all set within the confines of a beautifully restored historic home in East Cleveland, Ohio. Built in 1908, this house is not only a piece of history, but will serve as a gateway to a brighter future for generations to come.

About 1272 Carlyon Road

1272 Carlyon Road was the home of Barton R. Deming, one of Cleveland's first major real estate developers. In 1904 Barton and his brother Grant formed the The Deming Brothers Company, located at Superior Avenue and Carlyon Road. Along with renowned builder Phil H. Marquard, they built "Homes of Quality" on the Carlyon allotment and across Northeast Ohio.

"True safety isn't determined by our location (lions' den, fiery furnance, valley of the shadow of death, passing through fire or water). It comes with trust in the One who goes with us regardless of where we are."
- Pastor Arthur Jackson, Our Daily Bread

Restore and Uplift

The Ministerial and Educational Resource Center will also serve as that vital spiritual link between those with skills and services to offer, and those needing support.

Guests of the center can look forward to being able to study or relax with a book beside one of the historic home’s four fireplaces, meditate outdoors on the terrace or in the peaceful gardens, interact with mentors, conduct Bible research, and many other enriching opportunities.  Gathering around the dining room table for a home-cooked meal and  authentic connection with new friends is something to look forward to.

Wanda Davis

Director

Wanda Davis retired after 30 years as a music teacher for preschoolers through senior citizens in public schools, colleges, and religious institutions. Her love of home restoration stems from watching her parents build both their own homes and those of her grandparents.  Appreciation for craftsmanship, and a deep love and respect for God have kept her four children focused on excellence in their own educational and career endeavors including healthcare, business, behavioral health, and architecture.  Wanda also continues to have a passion for serving as a musician in her local church.
